LifeTime is doing a remake of the 1989 Herbert Ross directed film, “Steel Magnolias”. The difference with this remake is that the cast will be an all African American cast. The original cast from 1989 was Julia Roberts, Sally Field, Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis, Dolly Parton and Daryl Hannah.
The all star leads for this remake include Queen Latifah, Phylicia Rashad, Alfre Woodard, and Jill Scott. We also have new comers Adepero Oduye ( Movie:Pariah) and Condola Rashad (Phylicia Rashad’s daughter) Check out the trailer. The movie is scheduled to premiere on the Lifetime Channel before end of year.
